Product Definition and Core Functions of High Pressure Manifold
The high-pressure drilling fluid pressurized by the drilling pump must rely on the high-pressure manifold for delivery. The high-pressure manifold is an integrated piping assembly composed of pressure-bearing pipe components such as high-pressure straight pipes, high-pressure elbows, tees, reducing couplings, flanges, unions (由壬), valves, and pulsation dampener short nipples.
Core functions:
1. High-Pressure Fluid Delivery: Stably delivers the high-pressure drilling fluid pressurized by the drilling pump to the kelly hose and swivel, and finally into the inner bore of the drill string down to the bottom hole, completing drilling fluid circulation and achieving drilling operations such as cuttings transport, bit cooling, and downhole power drive.
2. Pressure Buffering and Distribution: The manifold integrates a mounting base for the air chamber (pulsation dampener). Working with the air chamber, it buffers the periodic pressure pulsation caused by the reciprocating motion of the drilling pump, reducing pipeline impact and vibration, stabilizing pump pressure, and lowering fatigue damage to the drilling pump and downhole tools caused by pressure fluctuation.
3. Safety Pressure Relief Protection: The manifold provides mounting interfaces for safety valves, matched with high-pressure safety valves. When the system pressure exceeds the limit, the safety valve automatically opens to relieve pressure, protecting the drilling pump, manifold, and drill string from overpressure damage — serving as the safety barrier of the entire circulating system.
4. Operating Mode Switching and Maintenance: Equipped with high-pressure gate valves, the manifold enables the commissioning, isolation, and switching of single/multiple drilling pumps, facilitating equipment maintenance without interrupting the overall drilling circulation operation.
5. Pressure Parameter Monitoring: The manifold provides mounting seats for pressure sensors and pressure gauges, collecting real-time pressure data of the drilling fluid in the line. The signals are transmitted to the driller's console, allowing operators to monitor pump pressure changes in real time and judge downhole conditions.
